Clara Novakova was born in Czechoslovakia, studied in Italy, Germany (Stuttgart Hochschule fur Musik) and France ( Conservatoire National Supérieur, Paris). From 1982 she won several International Competitions (Stresa, Palmi, Ancona...) and Prizes, the Pro Musicis Foundation Prize among others, which enabled her to make her debut at Carnegie Hall in New York.
She was first flute at the Ensemble Orchestral de Paris from 1988 to 2006. Very active in the field of contemporary music, Clara Novakova is also collaborating with the SmashEnsemble Salamanca, Arcema Paris, Praguemodern and others.
She lives between Paris, Valencia and Prague, and gives master-classes in France, Czech Republic, Spain, Mexico, Colombia, Taiwan China, South Corea and Japan.
