Carmen Domínguez was born in Barcelona in 1980. After finishing her studies in Soria and Zaragoza with teachers Vicente Ferrer and Emilio Ferrando, she moved to Paris to continue her studies with Guy Deplus. There she obtained the Performance Prize of the INAEM-Spanish College in Paris.
She has performed as soloist with the Symphony Orchestra of Castile and Leon (OSCYL), has been part of the JONDE (National Youth Orchestra of Spain) and has collaborated with several orchestras, such as the Orchestra of Spanish Radio and Television (RTVE), Symphony Orchestra of Madrid (OSM), Symphonic Orchestra of the Principality of Asturias (OSPA), among others. Her interest in the contemporary repertoire and the development of the possibilities of the clarinet has taken her to play in many premieres and to be a member of several contemporary ensembles, such as SMASH ensemble, Plural Ensemble and the Academy of Contemporary Music JONDE.
She has performed in important theaters around the world: Paris, Berlin, Warsaw, Vitasaari (Finland), Prague, New York, Venice, Stuttgart, Monterrey, La Habana… and under the conduction of Gianandrea Noseda, Vasily Petrenko, Pinchas Steinberg, Alberto Zedda, Gunther Schuller, Josep Pons, Fabián Panisello, Zsolt Nagy, Arturo Tamayo and Beat Furrer, among others.
She has also made recordings for Radio Nacional of Spain, Spanish TV, Verso, Tritó and Cable Musical. Since 2002 she combines her concert activities with teaching at the Music Conservatory of Salamanca.
